Hi, I'm Rose!  

I am the owner, operator, and content creator of Vintage Rose Sustainable Home Decor. 

Vintage shopping is my passion.  What began as a way of life quickly grew into a full-time occupation.  

I consider myself an accidental vintage retailer.   I always shopped vintage and loved learning about designs, historical periods, and furniture styles.  It was kind of a nerdy hobby.  Then, after retiring from 20+ years as a college professor, I opened a booth at an antique mall to sell home decor I had accumulated over a lifetime.  Three years later, I opened my own vintage store. Honestly, I never imagined something so core to my existence would become a second vocation.  Today, I am a seller, shopper, and teacher of all things vintage.  

I appreciate good design and ALWAYS shop on a budget.  I believe it is possible to buy beautiful second-hand furnishings with great decorating results.  I never buy new if I can purchase used.  That is my decor philosophy.
